How to Harvest Broccoli

Now that my broccoli's have grown nice and big - it's time to harvest !

When to harvest:

When the broccoli starts to look a little yellow in different tiny spots - it's time.

The yellow spots mean that it's about to flower and we don't want it to flower.

How to Harvest:

At the base of the broccoli head cut at an angle down. By cutting the stem at an angle it will allow for water to run off and not sit on top like it would if it was cut flat. If the water stays on the stem it could rot and no more broccoli will grow again -the plant will die.

After the harvest:

Make sure to wash the broccoli before eating.
